About this festival

The 2026 Gijang-gun Pet Culture Festival is a celebration of communication and harmony bringing together pets, their owners, and local residents. Held for the third time this year, the festival centres on the theme of "happy coexistence with pets" and offers an abundance of diverse programmes that allow both pet owners and non-pet owners to enjoy themselves together, learning about and empathising with proper pet culture. This year particularly features new and engaging pet programmes including a "pet-accompanied walking event" where pets and their owners walk and interact together, as well as "K-Pet Got Talent", where talented dogs and cats from across the country gather in one place to showcase their hidden talents and abilities. Through a variety of experience, educational and participatory programmes, the festival aims to share not only the joy of life with pets but also the significance of respecting life and fostering a responsible pet culture. Gijang-gun, where the festival takes place, continues to make various efforts to promote pet culture and improve animal welfare in order to build a local community where people and animals can live happily together. This festival likewise aims to establish a mature pet culture and foster communication and coexistence among community members through programmes that allow pets and their owners to participate and enjoy together.
