About this festival
The 2026 Geumjeongsan Fortress Festival, which embodies the value of Geumjeongsan Mountain newly designated as a national park in 2026, will be held for three days from October 16th (Friday) to October 18th (Sunday) at Geumjeongsan Fortress Plaza and the surrounding Geumjeongsan Fortress area. As a history, culture, and arts festival based on Geumjeongsan Fortress, the largest-scale mountain fortress in South Korea and a representative cultural heritage of Geumjeong-gu, Busan, it is held annually to commemorate the construction of Geumjeongsan Fortress. Continuing since the start of the Geumjeong Arts Festival in 1996, the Geumjeongsan Fortress Festival presents new attractions of Geumjeong this year through diverse programmes that harmonise the ecology and nature of national park Geumjeongsan with the history and culture of Geumjeongsan Fortress.
